Lothar Frey, nicknamed "Lame Lothar" for the pronounced limp in his left leg, is a son of Lord Walder Frey and the steward of the Twins, the seat of House Frey. As the manager of his father's castle, he handles the fine details needed to carry out House Frey's designs.
In the HBO series Game of Thrones, Lothar is one of the principal architects of the Red Wedding: he arranges the disguised assassins and personally stabs the pregnant Talisa Stark at the feast. He and his half-brother Black Walder later command a failed second siege of Riverrun and are rebuked by Jaime Lannister; Lothar is ultimately killed by Arya Stark, who bakes him into a pie served to Walder Frey. Details of his role appear in the Timeline.
