Peter Pettigrew, known as Wormtail, is a wizard in the Harry Potter series and an unregistered Animagus able to take the form of a rat. At Hogwarts he was one of the Marauders alongside James Potter, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, but he later betrayed the Potters to Lord Voldemort and framed Sirius Black for the crime.
He spent years hidden as the Weasley family's pet rat Scabbers before his exposure, and afterwards played a central role in Lord Voldemort's return to power.
