James Potter, nicknamed "Prongs", is Harry Potter's father and a background character in the Harry Potter film series, appearing chiefly through flashbacks and, at the Battle of Hogwarts, through the Resurrection Stone. A pure-blood wizard sorted into Gryffindor House, he was a member of the Marauders and a stag Animagus.
