Ar-Pharazon the Golden was the twenty-fifth and last King of Numenor. A proud and powerful ruler, he usurped the throne by forcing marriage on the rightful queen Tar-Miriel, and marched on Middle-earth to take Sauron captive, only to fall under the Dark Lord's influence.
Deceived by Sauron into worshipping Morgoth and seeking immortality, he built the Great Armament and broke the Ban of the Valar by assailing the Undying Lands, bringing about the Downfall of Numenor. In the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power he is reimagined as the chancellor to Queen Regent Miriel who rises to seize the crown.
