Rose Cotton, affectionately known as Rosie, was a hobbit of the Shire and the wife of Samwise Gamgee, the faithful companion of Frodo Baggins on the quest of the One Ring. A daughter of the Cotton family of Bywater, she and the Gamgees were lifelong friends, and she waited patiently through Sam's long absence during the War of the Ring.
