Cornelius Crane "Chevy" Chase, born October 8, 1943, is an American comedian and actor whose career spans comedy sketches, feature films, and television series. After various odd jobs, Chase joined National Lampoon and became a Saturday Night Live mainstay, earning three Primetime Emmy Awards. He is famously associated with the bumbling Clark Griswold in the Vacation franchise and comedic roles in Caddyshack, Fletch, and ¡Three Amigos!. His versatility extended to hosting the Academy Awards and a brief stint as a talk show host, while his later work includes the character Pierce Hawthorne in Community.
