Jonathan Archer is a 22nd-century Human Starfleet officer in the Star Trek universe, best known as the captain of Enterprise NX-01, United Earth's first warp-five starship. He is credited with vastly expanding humanity's presence in the galaxy and making first contact with numerous species, including the Klingons, Andorians, and Xindi.
Born in 2112 to the warp scientist Henry Archer and his wife Sally, Jonathan grew up fascinated by space exploration and became a test pilot in the NX warp program before being selected to command Enterprise. His historic mission launched in 2151, crewed by officers such as T'Pol, Charles "Trip" Tucker III, Malcolm Reed, Hoshi Sato, and Doctor Phlox.
Archer is widely credited with saving Earth during the Xindi crisis and helping lay the groundwork for the United Federation of Planets, later serving as one of its earliest presidents.
