Odo was a Changeling who served as chief of security aboard the space station Deep Space 9 (formerly the Cardassian-run Terok Nor). One of the "Hundred" shapeshifters the Founders sent across the galaxy, he was found adrift in the Denorios belt and studied for years by Dr. Mora Pol before taking up a career enforcing the law. His name derives from the Cardassian word for "nothing."
Widely respected as a fair investigator, Odo was affectionately nicknamed "Constable" by Major Kira Nerys, for whom he developed deep feelings. Uniquely among his kind, he rejected the Founders' beliefs in favor of the solids he had come to value. A principal character of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, his story is detailed in the Timeline.
