Creator's Founding Ledger

Purpose

This document proposes the Credit award for the Creator's pre-launch work on OLN. It is subject to community ratification alongside the Constitution (Layer 6). Community members reviewing this ledger can examine both the methodology (how work was categorized and rated) and the total (the final Credit amount). The ratification vote approves both.

The principle is that founding work is valued at the same rate future equivalent work will earn. The Creator does not receive a founder premium. The head start comes from having done a lot of work before anyone else could — not from being credited at special rates.

Methodology

Categorization

Pre-launch work is categorized using the same six categories defined in Layer 7:

1. Canon Contribution
2. Visual and Media Contribution
3. Curation and Editing
4. Community Contribution
5. Technical Contribution
6. Meta Contribution

Additionally, "Thought Time" (design, planning, architectural decisions) is credited only when it produced a recorded artifact — a specification, a design document, a decision record, a written proposal. Pure unrecorded thinking is not credited. This same rule will apply to all future contributors: ideas only become creditable when they leave a verifiable trace.

Rates

The rates used for pre-launch work mirror the rates that will apply to post-launch equivalent work:

Note: These rates are templates and will be populated with specific values derived from the post-launch rubric before public publication. Rates must be consistent between founding and post-launch work for the methodology to be defensible.

Impact

Pre-launch work is Base Credits only. Impact Credits accrue post-launch based on actual downstream effects per Layer 7. The Creator's founding work is not granted speculative Impact Credits.

Verification

All Credits in this ledger must be verifiable:

• Code commits verifiable through repository history
• Design documents and specifications preserved with authorship and timestamp
• Architectural decisions recorded in decision logs
• Thought time only credited when tied to resulting artifact

Community reviewers may audit specific items and challenge those they believe are miscategorized or over-valued.

Canon Contribution

Any foundational Franchise work the Creator performed pre-launch — typically minimal, as Franchises are expected to emerge from community contribution. Populated only if applicable.

Visual and Media

Initial taxonomy and information architecture work. Populated based on actual work performed.

Community Contribution

Pre-launch community building, soft review coordination, founding contributor onboarding. Populated based on actual work performed.

This total is subject to community ratification during the founding period. Revision during the comment period based on substantive critique is expected and welcomed.

What This Represents

Based on the proposed total and the Power Curve (Layer 3 Article III), the Creator's Power at ratification would be approximately [TBD] Power, before any role ceilings apply.

With Network-level Contributor role bonuses, the Creator's total Power at ratification would be approximately [TBD] (subject to absolute cap of 12,000).

This represents substantial initial influence but not structural majority at the platform's scale ceiling. As the platform grows and decay operates, the Creator's share of total Power will naturally diminish unless maintained through ongoing contribution.

Commitments

The Creator commits:

• This ledger reflects actual verifiable work, not inflated claims
• Rates match those that will apply to post-launch equivalent work
• The Creator will not request adjustment of this ledger after ratification, except as allowed for all contributors under Layer 7
• The Creator will provide access to source evidence (commits, design documents, decision logs) upon request during the comment period

Community Review

During the public comment period, community members are invited to:

• Audit specific ledger items
• Challenge categorization or hour estimates they find inaccurate
• Propose methodology refinements
• Review the total against the post-launch rates being proposed

Substantive challenges will be addressed in weekly digest responses. Accepted corrections will be reflected in the ratified ledger.
