Lancel Lannister is a knight of House Lannister who appears in HBO's Game of Thrones. The eldest son of Ser Kevan Lannister and a nephew of Lord Tywin, he first serves as squire and cupbearer to King Robert Baratheon and, while his cousin Jaime is a captive of the Starks, becomes entangled in a secret affair with Queen Cersei Lannister.
Over the course of the series Lancel is drawn into the intrigues of King's Landing, informing on Cersei's wildfire plans and fighting on the walls during the Battle of the Blackwater. A near-fatal wound and a religious awakening lead him to renounce his old life and join the militant Sparrows, rising within the rearmed Faith Militant that comes to dominate the capital.
