Sam, affectionately called "Little Sam," is the son of Craster and his daughter-wife Gilly. He was named after Samwell Tarly, who helped Gilly protect him and later presented the boy to House Tarly as his own son.
In Game of Thrones, Little Sam is carried as an infant by Gilly and Samwell Tarly through much of the series, from Craster's Keep to the Wall, Horn Hill, and beyond. His appearances are recorded in the Timeline.
