Jake Sisko was the son of Starfleet Captain Benjamin Sisko and Jennifer Sisko. Rather than follow his father into Starfleet, Jake chose to become a writer, growing up aboard the space station Deep Space 9 where his closest friend was the Ferengi Nog.
Having lost his mother at the Battle of Wolf 359, Jake found maternal figures in his stepmother Kasidy Yates-Sisko and in Kira Nerys. During the Dominion War he served as a front-line reporter for the Federation News Service, and he went on to become a renowned author. Jake appears in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
