Arvel Crynyd was a human male pilot who served the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. A veteran flyer and instructor, he led Green Squadron of A-wing starfighters under the callsign Green Leader.
During the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Crynyd's A-wing was struck by enemy fire. Unable to pull up, he steered his crippled fighter into the bridge of the Super Star Destroyer Executor, the flagship of the Imperial fleet, sending it crashing into the second Death Star and sacrificing his life.
