Mon Mothma

Mon Mothma, affectionately known as Double-M, was a human female politician and revolutionary leader from the planet Chandrila. She served as her homeworld's representative in the Galactic Senate, where she became an outspoken advocate for peace and democracy during the Clone Wars.
After the Republic was reorganized into the Galactic Empire, Mothma continued to serve in the Imperial Senate while covertly helping organize the underground resistance movements that would coalesce into the Alliance to Restore the Republic. She became the Rebellion's civilian leader and one of its founding members.
Following the Empire's defeat, Mothma oversaw the restoration of the Republic as the New Republic and was elected its first Chancellor. She is depicted across films, series, and novels as a principled stateswoman devoted to democratic ideals.
