Eleni Syndulla was a female Twi'lek from Ryloth, the wife of freedom fighter Cham Syndulla and the mother of Hera Syndulla. During the Clone Wars she sheltered her young daughter underground while joining her husband's Twi'lek Resistance to fight the Separatist Droid Army for Ryloth's freedom. It was watching Republic ships liberate her world that first inspired the young Hera to become a pilot.
After the war Eleni grew quickly suspicious of the Galactic Empire's motives on Ryloth, and she joined Cham's new resistance against the occupation. She was killed by Imperial forces, a loss that drove Cham into an obsessive campaign to protect Ryloth and created a lasting rift with their daughter. Eleni's memory was preserved through the family Kalikori heirloom and a portrait kept in the Syndulla home.
