Ponds, designated CT-411, was a human male clone trooper officer who held the rank of Clone Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic. Bred from the genetic template of Jango Fett and specializing in military reconnaissance, he commanded Lightning Squadron within the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps.
Ponds served as Jedi General Mace Windu's preferred liaison and second-in-command, fighting at the First Battle of Geonosis, the campaign to liberate Ryloth, and the Battle of Malastare across the Clone Wars. He was captured after the Endurance crashed on Vanqor and executed by the bounty hunter Aurra Sing in a plot to lure Windu into a trap.
