Jango Fett was a Mandalorian human bounty hunter from Concord Dawn, widely regarded as the finest bounty hunter in the galaxy during the last years of the Galactic Republic. A foundling raised among the Mandalorians, he wielded distinctive armor equipped with dual WESTAR-34 blasters, a flamethrower, and a jetpack, and flew the Firespray-31 patrol craft Slave I.
Recruited by the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus, Fett became the genetic template for the clone army secretly grown on Kamino. As part of his payment he requested an unaltered clone, whom he raised as his son, Boba Fett. Fett's involvement in an assassination plot against Senator Padme Amidala drew the Jedi to Geonosis, where he was killed by Mace Windu during the opening battle of the Clone Wars.
His legacy endured through the millions of clone troopers cloned from him and through Boba, who followed his father into the bounty hunting trade. This overview summarizes source material under CC BY-SA; see the Timeline for chronology.
