Antoc Merrick was a human male ace pilot who rose to the rank of General in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, serving as Commander of Rebel Alliance Starfighter Command. Born on Virujansi in 46 BBY, he first flew as flight leader of his homeworld's Rarified Air Cavalry before rejecting an invitation to join the Imperial Navy and, alongside his friend Garven Dreis, seeking out the Rebel Alliance.
A decorated quadruple ace known for championing the X-wing as the backbone of Starfighter Command, Merrick led Blue Squadron under the callsign Blue Leader and was noted for his protectiveness toward the pilots under his command. He is best remembered for leading Blue Squadron at the Battle of Scarif, where the Alliance secured the Death Star plans and where he was shot down and killed by a TIE striker.
