Talzin was a Dathomirian female who served as the shaman and Clan Mother of the Nightsisters, the coven of Force-wielding witches native to the planet Dathomir. A powerful practitioner of Dathomiri magick, she unified the Nightsister clans into a single coven and was recognized as both the spiritual and political leader of her people.
Talzin was the mother of Maul and Savage Opress. After Darth Sidious abducted the young Maul to serve as his Sith apprentice, Talzin devoted herself to a long campaign of revenge against Sidious and his apprentice Count Dooku, allying with the fallen Nightsister Asajj Ventress. Her coven was decimated during the Clone Wars, and she was ultimately slain by General Grievous on Dathomir.
