Bail Prestor Organa of Alderaan was a human male politician, statesman, and revolutionary leader who represented his homeworld in the Senates of both the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire. Born Bail Prestor, he married Alderaan's queen Breha Organa, taking her family name, and became known for his commitment to honesty, justice, and democratic values, forming close ties with senators such as Mon Mothma and Padme Amidala.
A leading progressive voice and one of the Jedi Order's strongest allies in the Senate, Organa championed humanitarian and anti-war causes during the Clone Wars and was among the Delegation of 2,000 that petitioned Chancellor Palpatine to relinquish his wartime powers. In the aftermath of the war he helped surviving Jedi escape and adopted Leia, one of Padme Amidala's twin children.
Organa became a central architect of the growing rebellion against the Empire, helping unify scattered resistance into the Alliance to Restore the Republic before he and his wife were killed in the destruction of Alderaan. He is remembered as a hero and martyr of the Galactic Civil War. A detailed chronology is available in the Timeline; content is drawn from community reference sources under CC BY-SA.
