Gamling, sometimes called Gamling the Old, is a Man of Rohan from the Westfold who serves among King Théoden's household guard. In Peter Jackson's films he is portrayed as an amalgam of several characters and acts as Théoden's close attendant and banner-bearer.
He helps defend the Hornburg at Helm's Deep and rides with the Rohirrim to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Gamling was played by Bruce Hopkins in The Two Towers and The Return of the King; his battles are listed in the Timeline.
