Zal Dinnes was a human female Rebel Alliance starfighter pilot from Tierfon, regarded as an ace. She began with the Tierfon Yellow Aces before transferring to Garven Dreis's Red Squadron on Yavin 4, flying a T-65B X-wing under the callsign Red Eight.
Dinnes helped defend the fleet at the Battle of Scarif, then flew as leader of Third Flight in the assault on the Death Star at the Battle of Yavin, where she was killed. Her fallen comrades of Red Squadron were later honored at the Mako-Ta Space Docks.
