Irolas was a Man of Gondor and an officer of Minas Tirith in the last years of the Third Age, introduced in Peter Jackson's The Return of the King. Wearing the armour of the Citadel Guard, he is present through the defence of the city during the War of the Ring, and leads the party that bears the wounded Faramir back to the High Court. A non-canonical character invented for the film, he is widely regarded as a stand-in for the book's Beregond.
