The Keeper of the Dungeons, also called the Torturer of Dol Guldur, was a Gundabad Orc jailor created for Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy, serving the Necromancer and Azog. He is first glimpsed in a flashback to the Battle of Azanulbizar, fighting on Azog's side, where he was wounded by the Dwarf Dwalin and survived to hide in Mount Gundabad.
Years later he kept watch over the captured Gandalf at Dol Guldur and, on Sauron's order, attempted to execute the wizard and take the Ring of Fire — until Galadriel arrived and destroyed him. He appears in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) and The Battle of the Five Armies (2014). This summary follows public reference material under CC BY-SA; see the Timeline for chronology.
