Jean-Luc Picard

Jean-Luc Picard was a celebrated Starfleet officer, archaeologist, diplomat, and philanthropist who served throughout much of the 24th century. Born in La Barre, France, to Yvette and Maurice Picard, he left his family's vineyard for Starfleet Academy and rose to command some of the Federation's most storied starships.

Best known as captain of the USS Enterprise-D and Enterprise-E, Picard made first contact with dozens of civilizations, served as Arbiter of Succession for the Klingon Empire, and became humanity's principal point of contact with both the Q Continuum and the Borg. He later rose to admiral and served as Chancellor of Starfleet Academy.
