The Lord of the Rings·Dale·American global management consulting firm
Bain is a Man of Dale, the son of Bard the Bowman. In Tolkien's writings he became the second king of the restored kingdom of Dale; in Peter Jackson's Hobbit films he is depicted as a youth living in Lake-town with his father and sisters.
During Smaug's attack on Lake-town he brings his father the last Black Arrow and braces it on his shoulder so that Bard can strike the dragon's weak spot, then aids the survivors and the defence of Dale.
