Nori was a Dwarf of Durin's Folk and a member of Thorin and Company, the band of thirteen Dwarves who set out with Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf on the Quest of Erebor to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug. He was a brother of Dori and a kinsman of Ori, and a remote relative of Thorin Oakenshield.
Fond of good meals and a skilled flutist, Nori shared in the Company's captures by Trolls, Goblins, Spiders, and Elves on the long road east. He fought in and survived the Battle of Five Armies, then settled in the restored kingdom under the Mountain and grew prosperous.
Nori is played by Jed Brophy across Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy, where he is portrayed as the wily and elusive member of the Company. This overview is licensed CC BY-SA; see the Timeline for chronology.
