Feren is a Silvan Elf of the Woodland Realm and one of King Thranduil's guards, a character created for Peter Jackson's Hobbit film trilogy. He serves under Legolas and the Elvenking, carrying out their commands during the events around Mirkwood and Erebor.
In The Desolation of Smaug he helps try to stop Thorin's company escaping down the Forest River, and in The Battle of the Five Armies he blows his horn at Dale to summon Thranduil's troops into the battle.
