Boromir is a warrior of Gondor in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium, brought to the screen most prominently by Sean Bean in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. The eldest son of Denethor II, the Ruling Steward of Gondor, and heir to the Stewardship, he is renowned for his prowess in battle and is admired by the peoples of both Gondor and Rohan.
He joins the Fellowship of the Ring as Gondor's representative, but his desire to protect his people leaves him vulnerable to the corrupting influence of the One Ring.
